Sammy Randall Garrett was born June 24, 1929 to Howard Otto and Juanita “Hart” Garrett in Locker in San Saba County. He entered his eternal home on Jan. 29, 2017 at 11:35 p.m. Pallbearers are his grandsons and best friend, Jimmy Decker. Honorary pallbearers are his brother-in-law, Glenn Ringstaff and his great grandsons, Hunter Reagor and Cayden Branch. His childhood was spent in and around Richland Springs.
Nola Lorena Brown went to see Jesus on Jan., 28, 2017 at the age of 98 years. She was born on April 26, 1918 in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Walter Gray White and Nola Lorena (Owen) White. She married Paul Curtis Brown who preceded her in death on March 31, 1984.
Roy Janane Nobles passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 in Llano, at the age of 51. He was born March 6, 1965 in Llano to Roy Lee Nobles and Elrita (Tribble). Janane was a resident of Llano since 1965. He was a member of the Pittsburg Avenue Church and attended First Baptist Church of Llano as well.
Judith Elnora (Judie) Holland passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2017 in Llano, at the age of 72. She was born Sept. 1, 1944 in Sherman, to Horace R. Woodall and Edith E. (Dietz) Woodall. Judie was a resident of Llano since 2006, coming from Galveston. She worked as a spokesperson for the City of Galveston Mayor’s office. Judie is preceded in death by her parents, Horace R.
June Carol Kuebel Marschall, 85 of Llano, passed away peacefully Jan. 20, 2017 at Granite Mesa in Marble Falls. June was born in Fredericksburg on Aug. 2, 1931 to Douglas and Jerusha Frances Kuebel. She grew up in Fredericksburg and graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1949 and was always very proud to be a Battlin’ Billy. She married James William Otto Marschall in Fredericksburg on June 5, 1949.
Oleta Ruth Long, 85, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 and is now free from the pain in this world and celebrating a new eternal life in Paradise. Nanny will be missed by the many friends and family who loved her deeply. Oleta was born June 15, 1931 in Llano to Ernest and Della Brewer.
Gary W. Pitts passed away in Houston on Jan. 14, 2017. Gary was the ranch manager at Panther Creek Ranch at Pontotoc several years ago. Gary is survived by his wife, Kathy Pitts; three sons, Gary W. Morris of Highland Village, Texas, Dale Wayne Pitts of Harden, Texas and Roy Pitts; five grandsons; one granddaughter; his mother, Clara L.
Surrounded by her family, Sondra Holtzer quietly passed us by, heaven-bound, on Jan. 15, 2017. Sondra was born April 1, 1946, the loved daughter of Norman and Julia Oestrich Holtzer, and was raised in Llano. She made her adult home in Burnet. Sondra was a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, friend and child of God. Sondra appreciated growing things and had a beautiful yard and flowers.
Thelma (better known as “Perky” to many, and “Mimi”) peacefully moved to her forever home on the morning of Jan. 5, 2017 at her home in Kingsland. She was born to Alice Lavon McKill (d. 1963) and William Alonzo Hunt (d.1961) in Minot, North Dakota on May 25, 1922. Thelma was the youngest of her siblings, Mary Eunice (1917-1951) and William “Billy” Linn (1918-1997). Lee Gilbert Waller passed away peacefully at home in Horseshoe Bay, Texas surrounded by his loving family on Dec. 30. 2016. He was 89 years old. He was born in Draw on July, 11, 1927 to Ola Gladys Frances and Christopher Columbus Waller, the fourth of eight children. He was a fourth generation Texan and his family was among the earliest settlers of Lynn County who helped organize the first schools, banks and churches in Draw and Tahoka.
