James Warren Deats, 91, known as “Chic” to his friends, died peacefully on Feb. 10, 2018, with family at his side, after a long struggle with dementia. He and his twin sister, Margaret Ann, were born on April 13, 1926, and grew up in Llano. After graduating from Llano High School, James enlisted in the U.S.
R.V. “Rue” Derrick Jr., 96, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018.
R.V. was born on May 30, 1921 in Weatherford, to Rue and Lucille Derrick. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Willys Raesener on Nov. 12, 1942 in Castell. She preceded him in death on July 3, 1962.
Hol Robin McGlothlin, 72, of Goldthwaite, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, in Goldthwaite. He was born March 27, 1945, in Hamilton, to William Russell McGlothlin and Auleen Beach Wilhite. Mr. McGlothlin was a truck driver all his life.
There was a memorial service at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, at Center City Baptist Church.

Willie (Hicks) Morgan of Tow, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 at the age of 82. She was born to Jennie May (Towerton) and Robert Hicks Sept. 5, 1935. She married Gayleon Morgan July 16,1956 in Bluffton.
She worked for the United States Postal Service until she retired. Willie was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Tow.
Mary Petty, age 81, of Brownwood passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at her residence.
Funeral services for Mary will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, at Coggin Ave. Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Skaggs officiating. Interment will follow at the Zephyr Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m.
Frances Ebeling of Round Mountain passed away peacefully on Jan. 20, 2018.
Frances was a dedicated wife and mother. She came to the Hill Country in 1944 as the Blanco County Home Demonstration Agent at the time when electricity was just coming into the area. She was very proud of the work she did to educate the residents on how to use this new technology.
