Anthony William Martin passed away on February 20, at the age of 64.  He passed very peacefully at his home in Llano Texas with his family. Anthony, “Tony”, was born on December 28, 1953 in Brady Texas.  He was the son of Arnold and Patsy Martin.  Tony was raised on the family ranch and graduated from Mason High School in 1972. Carla Jean Webb passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 in Llano, at the age of 56. She was born Sept. 15, 1961 in Crockett, to Marion White and Wanda Jean (Newsome). Carla was a resident of Buchanan Dam. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents Marion White and Wanda Jean (Newsome). Dorothy Betty (Knesek) Cernoch, 91, of Rosenberg, passed away on Feb. 27, 2018. She was born on April 29, 1926 in Ammannsville, to Frank and Eugenia (Barta) Knesek. Dorothy was a long-time member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Dorothy truly will be missed. In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Evan Cernoch; four sisters and three brothers. Survivors include her sons, Bobby Evan Cernoch and wife, Deborah, Larry Cernoch, and Ricky L.
Betty Evelyn Epperson of Valley Spring passed away on March 3, 2018. She has found peace and is home with her Lord and Savior. Betty Evelyn was born in Brownwood on March 13, 1926 to Harry Lee Sifford and Bess Gray Sifford. Shortly after she was born, the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri. As a young girl, Betty had many fond memories of attending school in both Kansas City and Laramie, Wyoming while her father and grandfather were involved with the Laramie-North Park Railroad Company.
Ronald (Ronnie) Franklin Yates, Senior went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2018. He was born on Nov. 30, 1951 in Brady, to Tommy Joe and Jane (Fowler) Yates. He lived in Cherokee for most of his youth until high school when he attended Texas Military Institute in San Antonio. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he met the love of his life, Glena Wood.
A celebration of life for Ronald Edward Duckworth will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the R/D Ranch. The address is 1370 CR 414 Llano, Texas. Ronald Edward Duckworth, 72, was born on March 5, 1945 in Levelland, to Houston Byron Duckworth and Ruth Bowman Duckworth.
Hubert Vaughn Howell passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 in Fredericksburg, at the age of 86. He was born June 15, 1931 to Hubert Thomas Howell and Lois (Fuqua). Hubert was a resident of Llano for 26 years since coming from Amarillo. He loved living on the Llano River, hunting, fishing, and barbequing. He is preceded by his parents, Hubert Howell, and Lois (Fuqua); and brothers, E.P.
Berta was born in Leonard, June 13, 1927, to James P. Sullivan and Bertha Prather Sullivan. She married J.T Jackson May 7, 1944. They lived in several places throughout Texas before moving to Llano 20 years ago. She was a homemaker who sewed, crocheted, knitted and loved to cook. Berta and J.T.
Frances Margaret Hische Merritt, 84, of St. Francisville, La., died Feb. 7, 2018 after a long and fruitful life. Born Sept. 8, 1933 in Knoxville, Tenn., to Harry L. Hische and Grace Obaugh Hische, Frances and her sister Nan moved around as children but considered Galveston, where they graduated from Ball High School, as their home. Not long after graduation, Frances married Warren Franklin ‘Skeeter’ Merritt Jr.
Kenneth A. Balog (MSgt, USAF, Ret), of Cleveland, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 in a local hospice facility. He was born March 2, 1932 in a southeastern suburb of Pittsburgh, Pa.  He graduated high school in 1950 and enlisted in the USAF when the Korean War broke out. He went to San Antonio for basic training at Lackland Air Force base. He became a military policeman, married and went to Korea to serve a year in that war. Mr.
