LaTrelle Adams, 94, passed away Nov. 30, 2017 in The Wesleyan at Estrella Assisted Living, Georgetown, Texas. She was born on July 28, 1923 to James Wade and Pinkie Eva (Forister) Duncan in Teichville, Llano County. LaTrelle grew up in Llano and graduated from Llano High School in 1939. On March 31, 1946 she married Hubert Allen “Hap” Adams in Llano.
Born Sept. 21, 1938, Claudine Long ended her visit here on earth and went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Nov. 30, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father, Claud Barnett Smith; mother, Lola Cassels Smith; and husband of 18 years, Bill Long. She is survived by her brother James H.
Kenneth Don Gray, 81, passed away Nov. 25, 2017 in Round Rock, Ken was born to Lewis and Estelle Gray on March 10, 1936 in San Saba. Ken graduated from Llano High School in 1954 and married the love of his life, Shirley Jean Barber, in Cherokee on May 24, 1952.
Bettieloyd Green Brooks Urban died Nov. 15, 2017. Private family graveside services were held Nov. 19 at Tow, with the Reverend Dan Teed officiating; burial followed at the Tow Cemetery. Born Oct. 13, 1930, in Wheeler, to Loyd Raymond Green and Annie Lee Burns Green, she was a school teacher in Grand Fall-Royalty ISD where she touched the lives of hundreds of young people.
Our beloved Paco, 87 years young, of Bandera passed away on a beautiful Thanksgiving morning of Nov. 23, in the year of our Lord 2017. Willis Francis Moore, or as he was more affectionately known as “Paco” was born in Fort Worth, to Phoebie and Dewey Moore on March 10, 1930.
Janet Lou (Rogers) Sharpe, 68, of Tow, passed away on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017. She was born to Jack C. Rogers and Helen Frances (Yedlosky) Rogers on June 7, 1949, in Morgantown, West Virginia. Janet will forever be remembered for her love of family and innate ability to make the holidays special with her delicious cooking and baking.
Mary Louise Choate, 83, of Llano, passed away, Nov. 13, 2017. She was born to Kirby and Maurine (Burks) Harvey on Dec. 26, 1933 in College Port. Mary moved to Llano in 1993 and quickly made it her home. Mrs. Choate has been a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 56 years.
James Larry Bush, born July 30, 1945 and longtime resident of Llano, passed away from natural causes on Oct. 13, 2017. As a student at Llano High School and later at Ranger Junior College, Mr. Bush won many medals and ribbons in track and field. He was recognized in newspaper articles for his significant contributions to the many tournament and championship competitions in which he participated. He studied business and accounting and later held a real estate license as well.
David Warren (Chip) Strayhorn passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, in Llano Texas at the age of 91. He was born Oct. 17, 1926 in Snyder, to Duanna and Lee Roy Strayhorn. David graduated from Llano High School in 1945 and then enlisted in the Merchant Marines. He married Mildred Janner on June 3, 1949 in Austin.
Orien Vondalph “Von” Swartzwelder, 85, of Bluffton, passed away into the peaceful arms of Jesus at his home, on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017. He was born March 31, 1932, at his family home in Southhampton Township, Chaneysville, Pennsylvania. He was the first son to the late Floyd V. Swartzwelder and his wife Mary (Beck).
