Dan Dalager, representative of Cox Paving, gave the City Council an update on the paving of the streets of Llano. He said they are about 60% finished with the paving. He explained that some people have expressed concern that it looks like some of the corners are not being paved and that there is a car that was paved around.
Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area has been granted a $52,500 High Demand Job Training grant to match the $56,900 in funds provided by the Marble Falls, Burnet, and Llano Economic Development Corporations. This partnership will facilitate and support the training of licensed plumbers and electricians in the construction trades, certified medical assistants in the healthcare industry, as well as bookkeeping, accounting and audit clerks throughout Burnet and Llano counties.

In San Antonio, 45-year-old Kelley Ranae Jones was sentenced to three years in federal prison for stealing over $900,000 from her employer, Arrowhead Bank in Llano, announced U.S. Attorney John F. Bash and FBI Special Agent in Charge Christopher Combs. U.S. District Judge Xavier Rodriguez sentenced Jones to the prison term followed by five years of supervised release and ordered that she pay $905,372.49 in restitution to the bank. On Wednesday, March 27, 25-year-old Brandon Michael Jacque was shot and killed by a Burnet police officer in the 300 block of S. McNeil St. in Burnet. According to a statement given by Burnet Police Chief Paul Nelson later that morning, the Burnet Police Department received a dispatch in reference to a loud music call.
The Commissioners heard from Daniella Scott, Recovery Coordinator, and Jack Doebbler, District Coordinator for the Texas Division of Emergency Management, concerning how FEMA will help Llano County after the flood of October 2018.  Scott explained how repairs would be grouped together into projects.  Once the projects are formulated according to actual repair costs, FEMA will step in and assign a team to work with Llano officials.
The School Board opened their meeting on April 22 by recognizing two students. Abby Machuga was awarded a Certificate of Bravery for her heroic acts when her house caught fine the morning of March 12. Superintendent Mac Edwards said, “Abby Machuga is a wonderful young woman that has had a tough freshman year.
You may have already noticed, but Cox Paving is back in town and in full force on the Street Project. The rain and flooding from last fall caused delays that pushed the project into an unfavorable time of the year for paving. Cox Paving and their subcontractors have been repairing the base coat and potholes on many of the streets on the north side of town prior to application of rubberized chip seal, or the top coat.
The American Legion Post 370 asked the Llano City Council to name the traffic circle next to the Legion Hall, “Frank Griggs Circle,” since it has not been named. Post 370 is named in his honor when the American Legion Department of Texas was chartered in 1934. Corporal Griggs was a son of Llano.
GRANITE SHOALS—On April 10, 2019, at 9:13 a.m., a 911 call was received reporting a harassment and a shot fired into the air. Officers quickly responded to the report in the 2200 block of Washington Drive. On arrival, the first officer attempted to make contact with the suspect, later identified as Gregory Edward Beversdorf, at his travel trailer residence.
