Commissioners Recognize CASA Volunteers
CASA advocates who attended the Commissioners Court for the reading of the resolution recognizing CASA in the Highland Lakes Area are
(L-R) Karla VanItem, Gary Kaczmarek, Diana Tryon (Advocate Coordinator), Judy Hindelang and Linda Burling. Not pictured but in attendance was Judge Bebe Rocha (friend of CASA). Anyone wishing to volunteer or learn more about what it takes to become a CASA, can go to their website at
www.highlandlakescasa.com or call Diana Tryon at (325) 388-3440.
The Commissioners heard from Daniella Scott, Recovery Coordinator, and Jack Doebbler, District Coordinator for the Texas Division of Emergency Management, concerning how FEMA will help Llano County after the flood of October 2018. Scott explained how repairs would be grouped together into projects. Once the projects are formulated according to actual repair costs, FEMA will step in and assign a team to work with Llano officials.
