The 7th grade won a hard fought game against a good Ozona team on Thursday, 16-0. Lots of improvements have been made from the beginning of the season until now and this game proved it. Our defense played extremely well and pitched another shutout and our offense kept the ball for a majority of the game making it difficult for Ozona to get anything going.

The Lady Eagles continue to sweep their opponents, defeating Junction and Utopia in three straight games each. The Lady Eagles traveled to Junction Friday and won the match 3 games to none. Johnson City won the first game 25-13, the second game 25-9 and the final game 25-16. Annamarie Capra had an awesome night serving finishing the night at 100%.
The JCISD School Board met on October 12, 2015 for their regularly scheduled meeting with all members present.
House Bill 2610 has altered the way school districts tabulate required class time for Texas students by measuring the student's time in minutes instead of days. JCISD currently has scheduled class time that exceeds the required number of minutes which is 75,600 minutes per year and results in changes to the current calendar.

Last week, three students from the LBJ HS Ag Business Communications class along with teacher, Steven Meier, attended the Pioneers Leadership Camp at McKinney Roughs Nature Park near Bastrop.
Pioneers Youth Leadership's mission is to help high school students realize their potential to make a positive change in their communities and sharpen their ability to be effective leaders.

Nine students from LBJ Middle School have qualified for participation in this year's Talent Search for mathematically and verbally advanced students sponsored by Duke University's Talent Identification Program (TIP). The program identifies highly able seventh-graders from a 16-state region in the south, southwest and midwest.
To be eligible, students must have a Scale Score of 1845 or higher on the 2015 STAAR Math and/or a scale score of 1803 or higher on the 2015 STAAR Reading Test.
JV Volleyball traveled to Leakey this past Tuesday for a match up with the opposing Lady Eagles. Johnson City's Junior Varsity team continued their two game streak defeating Leakey 25-16 and 25-9.

Johnson City JV traveled to Utopia on September 18, 2015 to continue their winning streak. The Lady Eagles made the victory short and sweet winning in two games 25-13 and 25-15.
High scorering servers were Laina Deleon (5), Aleigh Wessels (8 with 1 ace) and Ericka Gomez (7). Wessels led with 3 kills and 12 attacks followed by Hailey Fox with 13 attacks.
Other impressive effort came from Laina Deleon, Mikayla Tupper, Gillian Pearce, and Rylee Weirich.
The Johnson City Eagles traveled to San Antonio to face the Rohawks from Randolph High School on Friday night. The Rohawks proved to be a very good football team.
Coach Harris said that this would be a very good test for his Eagles and it would let him know if they were ready for district play.
