The Casparis family reunion took place on Saturday, June 16 at the LBJ State Park dining hall on the banks of the Pedernales River in Stonewall. The reunion is held every even-numbered year.
About 30 family members from across Texas enjoyed a BBQ lunch. It was a smaller than usual group, but there were long-lost cousins and old-timers with stories about Johnson City as it was in the 1940s.
Johnson City Antique Tractor and Engine twelfth annual Tractor Pull will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23 at the Blanco County Fairgrounds at 619 U.S. Hwy 281 in Johnson City. There will be events for various size and age tractors from 1965 and older. Along with the tractor pull, there will be a Kiddie pull and lawnmower pull.
The event is a non-points Texas-style pull with weighted and unweighted rules like those used at Temple & Hamilton.
By the authority granted to the Blanco County Judge, designated as the officer authorized to determine whether circumstances no longer exist to prohibit outdoor burning, and because Blanco County is generally receiving measurable precipitation, the burn ban enacted by the Blanco County Commissioner’s Court on June 12, 2018, is rescinded and no longer in effect.
More than 50 representatives of local governments, service and non-profit organizations gathered Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the Methodist Church in Johnson City to learn about a new community resource center coming in early 2019 to Blanco County.
The meeting was hosted by the sponsors of the project, Community Resource Centers of Texas, Inc.
The Texas Department of Transportation gave a presentation on June 5 in Llano on its plans for the next few years.
Cathy Kratz and Michael Dutton of TxDOT were at a sparsely attended meeting at the Llano Library to receive comments on the Rural Transportation Program for fiscal years 2019-2022 for Llano, Blanco, Mason, Gillespie and Lee counties.

The Regular Meeting of the Johnson City ISD School Board referenced a number of important items, including: installing new trustees, election of officers, consideration of 2018-2019 Student Code of Conduct and JCISD Student Handbook, and discussion of the 2018-2019 JCISD Budget.

After Board President Shelly Wenmohs called the Regular Meeting to order the minutes of the previous meeting and routine reports were approved.
The Johnson City Woman’s Civic Club and the Johnson City Library have had a vibrant relationship since 1942 when the club voted to make the library their permanent club project. The club continues yearly to honor this commitment by raising money through fund raisers and membership.
This year the club was proud to make a $14,500 donation to the library thanks to the support of the community.
