Judge Brett Bray called the meeting to order at 8:59 a.m. with all commissioners present. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved and both line item transfers were approved. The PAWS Shelter of Central Texas, located at 2965 FM 165, Dripping Springs officially opened its doors on Thurs. June 20 with a series of ribbon cuttings for Blanco, Johnson City and Dripping Springs. With more than 100 people roving in and out during an Open-House style Grand Opening, attendees enjoyed food from Onion Creek Kitchens, craft cocktails from Dripping Spring Vodka along with other sponsors such as Dr.

Blanco County Commissioners held a Regular Meeting on June 11, 2019. All Commissioners were present. After the roll call was taken and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited Judge Brett Bray shared a Proclamation declaring June 14 as “Flag Day” and June 9-15 as “Flag Week” in Blanco County. JCISD Trustees held a Regular Board Meeting on June 10, 2019. Board President Shelly Wenmohs called the meeting to order at 6 pm and all Trustees were present. Motion to certify the School Board Election results of the general election on May 4, 2019 was given by Trustee Matt McKennis and seconded by Trustee Brit Odiorne.
Burg’s Corner had its beginning in 1948 as the Gillespie County Fruit Growers Co-op. For decades it was the hub of the peach industry. Growers throughout the county brought their harvests in to be sized and shipped to markets. The outdoor shed, which holds the grading and sorting equipment, was the original structure built in 1948.
It's wonderful to live in Johnson City, TX., a town that loves America and celebrates traditions such as Flag Day. The Daughters of the American Revolution prepare a special service every year commemorating the adoption of the flag of the United States by resolution of the Second Continental Congress, which was first held on June 14, 1777.

Members of the family of James Ross Leonard (Class of 1998) were on hand as coaches and students from JCISD dedicated a plaque in his honor in the LBJ High School gym where he spent countless Tuesday and Friday nights watching his beloved Lady Eagles. Leonard, who passed away April 9th, scored the go-ahead basket for the 1947 Johnson City Eagles in the Class B State Basketball Championship Game and went on to a successful coaching career in girls’ basketball and track.
