The Blanco County Commissioners Court was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Judge Brett Bray. All four commissioners were present: Tommy Weir, Emil Uecker, Chris Liesmann, and Paul Granberg.
The minutes from previous meetings were approved.
Next, the line item transfer was presented and approved. Liesmann motioned to approve the outstanding bills of $646,573.21.
What used to be the lazy days of summer haven’t been so lazy for Eagle and Lady Eagle athletes, coaches and parents. With Cross Country, Football and Volleyball practices just around the corner Eagle fans can expect to see the results of summer work once the seasons start.
A record number of athletes signed up for Speed and Strength Camp with eighty-one boys and girls taking part in the four-day-per-week workouts at Eagle Field.

JCISD high school student Brinley Portie addressed the Board in Public Forum regarding the dress code with particular attention to hair length and facial hair. Portie asked the Board to consider providing overall fairness to JCISD students.
City of Johnson City City Council held a Special Meeting on July 9, 2019. Mayor Rhonda Stell called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm and Council Member Rosie Danz gave the invocation.

The 2019 Lady Eagle Volleyball team will face one of their toughest opponents in the new season with just a day-and-a-half of practice under their belts when they face their own Alumni at 6pm on Friday, August 2nd. The event will help to raise money for the Volleyball program with a $3 admission charged.
Owners of Hill Country Wireless and Technology, David and Ginger McCullough, Johnson City are working to reach parts of the Hill Country previously having no or poor internet service. A new tower, which was delivered last week, is in preparation to be set up on the hill behind Cox Paving in Blanco to extend the company’s service area.
The McCullough’s moved to Johnson City from the Texas Panhandle where they had a cattle ranch.

Gary P. Nunn, who has made a career out of playing Texas Country music, brought the crowds to Twin Sisters Dance Hall Saturday night. Folks came from as far away as Oklahoma, California, New Mexico, Oregon and Massachusetts to join the locals, and Texans from Dallas and Houston to dance the night away.

Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) presented him with a new, fully furnished custom home with special adaptations to meet his needs as an injured Soldier.
There’s a new face on Pecan Street. Moonshine Ridge, Inc. incorporates handcrafted corn whiskey that is “A Family Tradition. Kentucky Born, Texas Made.” The small business is family owned, and all products are Texas based and handcrafted in small batches.
Owners Tom and Jason Hicks are doing extensive renovations to the building located just west of Pecan Street Brewery in Johnson City.
