Blanco's girls track team kept up its winning ways, capturing the 25/26 AAA Area Track title April 22 in a meet held at Judson. The win came less than a week after the girls won the District 25-AAA championship at Lago Vista.
The Area meet included qualifiers from District 26, which featured such track powers as Randolph, Cole, and Marion.
The Panther softball team battled the Jarrell Lady Cougars for a 15-13 come-from-behind win on Saturday, April 25.
Andrea Calzoncit pitched 6 innings, facing 34 batters. Payton Savarino pitched 1 inning, facing 7 batters. Montana Wiseman led the way at the plate going 3 for 4 with 3 singles and 1 rbi.

Ty Preiss picked up his 3rd win of the season going 5 innings, striking out 3 and scattering 4 hits. Jake Breeding and Kyle Gray each threw a scoreless inning. Gray had the big hit of the night, busting a grand slam homerun in the 2nd inning to put Blanco up 5-0.
Students at Blanco Elementary School were charged with excitement Friday, May 1, with the return of the annual Walk-A-Thon.
The event has served to help purchase a track for students on the campus and has other goals in mind that will benefit the school, said principal Linda Romano.
"This is the Parent-Teacher Organization's (PTO) way of having the kids all work together to raise money for things that will come back to the campus,"
Just one week after finding a new high school principal, the Blanco Independent School District Board of Trustees hired a Jowie Walker [pronounced JOE' ee] to be the principal of the elementary school during special session held on Monday, April 20. She will succeed Linda Romano, who is retiring at the end of the current school year.
Walker is currently the assistant principal at Spring Meadows Elementary in the Judson Independent School District where she has served for the last six years.

"We take a lot of pride in representing Blanco ISD all over the state, and we have established ourselves as one of the best golf teams in the Region!" said head coach Scott Balmos.

After an exhaustive search, Blanco Independent School District (BISD) Board Trustees believe Casey Hollomon, 39, is the right person to fill the high school principal's vacancy.
Hollomon comes to BISD from Wimberley, where he has served as the principal of Danforth Middle School for the last three years. He replaces former Blanco High School (BHS) principal Dr.
The Blanco High School UIL Academic Team has an insurmountable 58-point lead over district rival Lago Vista going into the last contest of the District 25-AAA meet. BHS will win another district championship despite the One Act Play results.
The district meet, held Monday and Wednesday in Blanco, quickly became a two-school race with BHS and LVHS combining for nearly 1,000 points, 543—485.
The Blanco Panther JV Baseball Team is off to a fast start with a season record of 9 and 2 following this weekend's tournament where the Panthers swept all 3 games. In the opening game of the tournament, Blanco would defeat the Marion Bulldogs 7 to 1. Garrett Seales would pitch 6 strong innings for the win allowing just 1 unearned run on 5 hits while striking out 9.
