The Panther softball team lost a hard-fought game, 15-16, to the Comfort Deer on Tuesday, March 24 and then fell to the Florence Buffalo, 3-12, or Friday, March 27. Against the Deer Cheyenne Klein was on fire at the plate batting 4 for 6 with a single, a double, a triple, and a homerun.
David Struck competed at the Mens' Texas State Gymnastics Finals in Saginaw, TX, this past weekend. As a Level 8 gymnast, he earned a 1st place medal in Vault and 2nd place medal in High Bar. His All-Around score qualified him for the Regional Finals in Oklahoma City, OK, next month. David is a freshman at Blanco HS.
The Blanco High School baseball team won six games to capture 1st place in the Blanco County Tournament held Thursday March 12 through Saturday March 14. The Panthers posted their first win on Thursday, March 12 defeating the Lampasas Badgers 3-2. Pitcher Jake Breeding picked up the win in relief of Ty Preiss.
The Lady Panther softball team overwhelmed the Ingram Lady Warriors 20-1 in their first district game of the season on Tuesday, March 10. However, on Friday, March 13, the Panthers fell to the Florence Lady Buffaloes, 4-10. Against the Warriors, Skylar Wiseman hit 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 4 rbi.
Every year the Blanco Pioneers Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) hosts an essay contest for Blanco County fourth and seventh graders. This year there was one and only one winner in the person of Townes Reed Curbow, the fourth grade son of Christopher and Courtney Curbow of Blanco. Project Graduation will be hosting the annual Project Graduation Golf Tournament held at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco on April 12th, 2015. We had a great turnout of Sponsors and Players for this event last year and we are hoping that you will once again support our Blanco High School Seniors at this event by sponsoring a hole, donating a gift for our golf tournament raffle, or by playing in the tournament.
San Antonio Military Medical Center [formerly Brooks Army Medical Center, or BAMC) has awarded Blanco Elementary School, as well as its principal, Linda Romano, with a certificate for excellence in conjunction with the annual "Veterans Day Contest." The Region 12 University Interscholastic League High School Band concert and sight-reading contest for 3A and 4A schools was held on March 5 at Canyon Lake High School. The Blanco High School band performed their concert selections including Sparks by Balmages, A Childhood Hymn by Holsinger, and the Big Circus March by Foster.
