The Blanco football team rallied late but ultimately dropped a 42-28 game last Friday at Lago Vista.
Lago Vista jumped out to a 21-0 lead with a touchdown in the first quarter and two in the second quarter. Blanco scored 21 of its 28 points in the fourth quarter.
Blanco set up a scoring drive at its own 32 yard line after a seven yard kickoff return by Connor Cofield.
The Blanco junior varsity football team lost its final game of the season, 21-0 to Lago Vista last Thursday.
The Vikings started on offense at their own 25. Four plays later, Lago Vista ran for a touchdown and added the extra point to lead 7-0 early in the first quarter.
Fernando Palacios returned the kickoff to the Blanco 20, but then made a long gain on the next play to the Viking 25.

Blanco finished strong at home in Friday’s game against rival Comfort.
The Panthers (7-2, 2-1) exploded for 22 fourth quarter points to put away the Bobcats (6-3, 0-3) for a 42-28 district victory in the regular season home finale. The game was tied at halftime before Blanco vanquished its foe in the second half.
“Nothing will beat the feeling of beating a rival on my last home game ever,” said Brandon Gombert.
Blanco used a powerful, balanced offensive attack and a strong defense to shut out Marion 3-0 in the Bi-district playoff Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Canyon Lake High School gym.
Using six hitters, the Lady Panthers tallied 30 kills. The front line made 12 blocks to control the net and stop any momentum from the Marion hitters.
Evelyn Trammell punched a ticket to the regional cross country meet with her performance at the District 25-3A meet held Monday in Lago Vista.
Trammell placed seventh in varsity competition with a time of 14:20.80, qualifying for the regional meet. She will run Nov. 9 at the UIL Region IV Cross Country Championships at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
Blanco wrapped up District 25-3A play with a 3-1 win at Llano on Friday. The set scores were 21-25, 25-9, 25-17 and 25-13.
Emilee LaRue pounded the Jackets from the outside hitter position with 27 kills. Jennah Atchley hit seven kills, while Raylee Faris added six kills from the middle. Casey Eskew and Carly Romero each hit two, with Olivia Atchley scoring one.
Emma Srackangast, Olivia Atchley and Lily Porter served three aces each.
The Blanco football team tangled with district foe Llano on the road Friday, and fell to the state-ranked squad 42-26.
Llano (8-0, 3-0) scored on a 70-yard run in the first minute of the game to take an early 7-0 lead on a chilly night at home.
Cade Cress took the ensuing kickoff and returned it 12 yards.
The Blanco junior varsity football team fell to the Llano Yellow Jackets, 28-6.
Llano led 14-0 late in the second quarter and was threatening to score again just before the half, but Trevin Young made an interception in the end zone to stop the drive. Llano scored again in the third quarter.

Blanco rolled to a win over Luling in its District 13-3A opener Friday with a 55-0 home victory.
The Panthers (6-1, 1-0 district) dominated the game offensively with 421 yards of offense and 23 first downs. Nine Blanco players carried the ball in the big win. The BHS defense was stifling by sacking the Luling quarterback and creating turnovers, and the visiting Eagles only threatened to score once late in the game.
