AUSTIN – On May 29, 2015 the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) began accepting applications for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) as a result of the Presidential Disaster Declaration (FEMA 4223-DR) for Harris, Hays and Van Zandt counties. It has become apparent that there are some in our community and even some in our elected body that may be attempting to influence City government in a direction that is not in the best interest of Blanco based on personal agenda and grudges. Personal agenda should not be factor in the appointment of a Councilperson to fill the vacancies on the Council.
I believe the Citizens should be given the right to vote for their representation on City Council.

Victims of the severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding that took place beginning on May 4, 2015 in parts of Texas may qualify for tax relief from the Internal Revenue Service.
Following recent disaster declarations for individual assistance issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the IRS announced today that affected taxpayers in Texas will receive tax relief.
The President has declared Harris, Hayes, and Van Zandt counties a federal disaster area.
