Loyal fans of the Mason Punchers could be forgiven for being very confused by the game plan during last Friday's meeting with the Harper Longhorns. Receivers were toting the ball. QB Matt Kerr shot off pass after pass. And, kicker Kyle Montoya got to boot in not one, but two, field goals for the Punchers. Head Coach Michael McLeod knew that Harper is currently going through a growth and rebuilding process, and he knew they've had a rather tough season.

The Punchers traveled to Center Point on Friday night and, in a game they controlled all night, racked up their third district victory after shutting out the Center Point Pirates 42-0. The opening kickoff gave Center Point possession of the ball; but, the Pirates had trouble ever moving the ball down the field.
Last week, the JV Purple took on the Center Point Pirates. The Punchers had control of the game from the very beginning. After a quick first half the Punchers were winning with a score of 18-0. A strong first half carried over into the second as the Punchers continued the scoring.
7th grade The seventh grade Punchers won a close one as the final buzzer sounded, 14-12. It was a back and forth battle the whole time but we were able to capitalize on a few drives and our defense was able to hold them out to get us the win. Scoring for the seventh grade Punchers were Sutten Silerio with a rushing touchdown and a 2 point conversion; Caeleb Carter on a rushing touchdown and Hunter Bradley got an interception.
The Mason High School band went to Leander this past weekend and came away with the best rating we could receive. Straight 1’s from all three judges gave the band a 1st division and accomplished their first goal for the year. Achieving a sweepstakes is our overall goal, and this completes the first stage of that goal.
The Punchers continued their district play last Friday and racked up their second conference victory, defeating the Junction Eagles 62-6 at the Puncherdome. The entire game was dominated by the Punchers. Their first score came midway through the first quarter on a Matt Kerr short run, followed by Kyle Montoya's PAT.
