Bobby Jake Jones was born December 22, 1931. He went to his eternal home on February 3, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel (Jake) and Ola Turner Jones, his brother, James Taylor Jones, two sisters, Sammy Mae Jones and Judy Gwin and his grandson, Jake Winfield Wright. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Madalyn Pelegrino Jones, son Bill (Connie) Jones, daughters, Janet (Mitchell) Bankston, Lisa (George) Velez and Pamela (Jeff) Medici.
Billy N. Biggs passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019, at the age of 85. He was born in Lubbock, TX, on June 6, 1933, to Tom L. and Ura Mae Hayworth Biggs. He attended Lubbock High School and in July 1951, he joined the U.S. Air Force. He served until he was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant on December 20, 1954.
Our short tease of spring is gone. We have had a few cold days. The goal at our house is to use up some of the woodpile on the porch before spring so we don’t have to move it back to the fence. We have burned up a large amount of wood in the last few days.
Bobby Jake “Bob” Jones, of Mason, passed away on Sunday, February 3, at the age of 87. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife Madalyn Jones, of Mason, their children: Bill Jones and wife Connie, of Amelia, Virginia, Janet Bankston and husband Mitchel of Mason, Pamela Medici and husband Jeff of Southlake and Lisa Velez and husband George of Mason. Visitation will be Saturday morning, February 9, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Kathy Lynn Crocker 06/19/1947-01/26/2019 Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, and favorite teacher. She went to the Lord Saturday evening, January 26th. January 13, 1932 – January 22, 2019 Nelson William Geistweidt, 87, of Doss, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital, Fredericksburg. Nelson was born on Jan. 13, 1932, in Fredericksburg, Texas, the son of Edgar Geistweidt and Eleonora Meyer Geistweidt. He married Evelyn Welgehausen on June 7, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg, and she survives. Nelson was a rancher in the Onion Creek community, northwest of Doss. Dennis Dale Land, age 65 of Harper, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019, in Kerrville. He was born July 31, 1953, in Junction to Lester F. Land and Alma (Oehler) Land. On October 10, 1994, he married Caroline Ann Scherder. Dennis retired from DPS where he worked in Narcotics. He was a member of Harper Methodist Church. Dennis loved his family.
Charlene Bratton Schuessler, of Mason, passed away on Thursday, January 24, at the age of 84. She was born on November 8, 1934, in Fredonia to Charlie Bratton and Laura Hayes Bratton. Charlene married Elroy Schuessler on November 12, 1952, in Fredonia. Their marriage was blessed with two sons Jimmy and Buddy and a daughter Pam. Charlene was known for having a beautiful yard out in the country filled with blooming rose bushes and numerous pretty plants.
Where did January go? This month is marching on. Our family has a series of birthdays in January and February. We are having a lot of celebrations. It is good to have family over and have a good visit. Birthday cake sweetens the deal. The Mission Team of the Art United Methodist Church needs cookies on Sunday, February 10.
Date of Death: Tuesday, January 21, 2020 Wayne was born March 26, 1950, in San Saba, Texas, the 3rd of 5 children to famed saddle maker, Earl Homesley and Imogene Bode Homesley who was a professional seamstress. Wayne has lived most of his life in Llano County. He was a skilled horseman, he helped ranchers from New Mexico to Central Texas for over 50 years.
