The Odeon theater is privileged to host singer, songwriter and artist Sam Baker Saturday November 21. Baker comes to the Odeon by popular demand and will perform at 7:00 PM. Baker is a man of few words. Always beautifully chosen, and fully wrought. Words placed like plants and objects in a Zen Garden.
There's something about a crisp autumn day that conjures up memories of scuffling through fallen leaves, biting into the first perfect apple of the season, and, of course, football! We gratefully shelve the sleeveless shirts and start wearing a light sweater in the morning. If you're a member of Mason's Scarlet Punchers, at the end of every month is the promise of our next gathering in the not-too-distant future.
St. Joseph's parishioners invite everyone to come enjoy a delicious Mexican Dinner this Sunday, November 8th. Serving begins at 11 AM in the Mason I.S.D. Cafeteria on College Street. You may "Eat In" at the cafeteria and enjoy visiting with other diners or you may request "Take Out". Each plate is $10.00 and the meal consists of enchiladas, beans, rice, salad, tea and a dessert.
The Mason Study Club held its monthly meeting on October 28 in the Stribling Room of the Mason County Library. This month's meeting was hosted by Nan Larrimore (chairman), Pam Scott, Sue Kaan, Corrine Wright and Deana Handlin. Following lunch, our special guest speaker was Jan Appleby. Jan gave us an update on the state of the Seaquist House.
Veterans Day is November the 11th. The Mason veterans will have a ceremony to honor those that have served our country at 11:30 a.m. at the veterans memorial. We invite everyone to attend to support our veterans. At 9 a.m. on the 11th, the veterans will meet with the students in the high school.
Be our Guest! The fourth grade faculty and students at Mason Elementary would consider it a great pleasure if all of our Mason County veterans would join us for a luncheon on Wednesday, November 11th at the Mason Elementary Library immediately following the Veteran's Day Service on the courthouse lawn. Please come and let us thank you in person for your extraordinary service to our country!
Our annual Hunters' & Visitors' Guide is in this edition of the News. For me, this is the 16th time I've put together one of the supplements, and I hope you enjoy what we've done. Of course, if the Guide is in the paper, that can only mean one thing -- the general season begins on Saturday.
