‘Tis the season for giving! Willow Creek Cafe & Club invites the community to help them give the gift of food to those in need. From December 4th to the 24th, Willow Creek will have boxes in the cafe and club to collect food items for the Mason Food Bank. According to the 2015 Census, 23% of persons age 18 and under in Mason County are below the poverty level.
During Friday night's matchup with the Yorktown Wildcats, the Punchers once again continued their season-long streak of holding opponents to 7 points of less. Evangelism will come alive when The Journey to Bethlehem Drive-Thru Christmas Luminary comes into our midst. The Christmas Luminary is an annual production of St. Paul Lutheran Church. The date for the Luminary is December 10. The setting will be the beautiful and serene Fort Mason City Park, with the time 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Friday, December 15th, is the deadline for making your donation to the annual Mason County E.M.S. fundraiser: “Operation Christmas Greeting”. A full-page “Community Greeting Card”, with an alphabetical listing of all contributors, will be in the Christmas edition on December 20th. The “Greeting’s” goal each year is to provide funds for needed equipment for our local E.M.S.
This next Monday, December 4th we will have our annual blood drive that is brought to you by the Mason National Honor Society. We have hosted this event for the past few years and have had an amazing outcome and would like to continue donating Puncher blood that could potentially save a life. If you would like to donate the drive will be from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm in the library.
We invite you to support “Operation Christmas Greeting”; Mason County’s annual fundraiser for the EMS Association. For new participants, it works like this: A donation is made to the “Greeting” fund and your name is listed on a full page Greeting Card that appears in this paper’s Christmas edition on December 20th.
For the first time in the 2017 football season, the Punchers had a game that had only one score all night long. It took the tough defense of the Shiner Comanches to set up just such a game last Friday, and it was a good warm-up for the teams still ahead of Mason in the 2017 playoffs. With the strong defensive games from both teams, there was relatively low yardage for the night.
Come and celebrate the warmth and beauty of the season with St. Paul Lutheran Church and the annual presentation of The Journey to Bethlehem Drive-Thru Christmas Luminary. The Christmas Luminary is set for December 10 at Fort Mason City Park, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. There is no backup date this year.
We will start picking up leaves on December the 4th. Please try not to put any limbs in the piles of leaves so our vacuum can pick up all leaves. Please put all leaves on side of street. If you miss us for any reason be assured that we will be back by the following week.
Central Texas Electric Cooperative will be collecting toys at all four of their offices in Fredericksburg, Kingsland, Llano and Mason until mid-December. Individuals that bring in a donation will get a free koozie. Our Mason branch office toy drive will benefit the Bluebonnet Court Appointed Special Advocates or CASA. CASA provides and supports trained community volunteers to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children involved in the court system and find them safe and ...
