The Mason Tennis Association will hold a fundraiser this Friday, March 29th, at the tennis courts in conjunction with the high school’s last invitational tennis tournament of the year. You are encouraged to come out and watch some great tennis on Friday, eat a great lunch, and support Mason tennis at the same time.
The Mason County Cancer Benefit would like to present the 2019 fundraiser, Betting on a Cure. This year’s fundraiser will be held April 27th, 2019, and will include; a fajita dinner, silent auction and a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament. The event will be held at the Mason County Community Building. The fajita dinner, by Santos Restaurant, will be served at 5:30 p.m.
At their meeting on Monday, March 25, the Mason I.S.D. School Board officially hired Michael McLeod as the Mason Puncher Athletic Director and Head Coach. McLeod replaces Kade Burns who has been hired as the new high school principal.
The City of Mason will be holding a City Election Saturday, May 4, 2019. Position up for election this year is City Commissioner District 4. The City will begin accepting applications for early ballot by mail beginning March 20, 2019. Application for ballot by mail may be made to Pattie Grote, P.O.
Mason resident Tonya Huston recently returned from a mission trip to Rwanda, Africa in support of Heart and Sole Africa (HASA), an organization she founded a decade ago to help end Podoconiosis. Podoconiosis is a debilitating, chronic form of Elephantiasis caused by the absorption of silica (glass) from the rich volcanic soil of the Virunga area of Western Rwanda.
This Saturday, the Steady Steps Program will be hosting its annual Golf Tournament and Dinner/Cake Auction/and other prizes at the Mason Community Center in the Park with the Golf Tournament starting at 11:30 am and the Dinner at 6:00pm. This year Steady Steps will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary so extra efforts are underway to host a big celebration.

The Mason Youth Baseball & Softball Association would like to invite everyone to come and enjoy our Opening Day Ceremonies this Saturday, March 23rd. This is a great tradition and a perfect way to kick off another fantastic season of Mason Youth Ball! Opening ceremonies will be begin at 9:30 a.m.
The Mason tennis team captured the Regional Championship last week by beating San Saba in the finals to earn another trip to the State Team Tennis Tournament in San Antonio. This is the first year the tournament has been held in San Antonio and with that came some changes in play format, site locations and the overall atmosphere of the tournament.
Sights, Sounds & Taste of Town! Riata Service Organization is planning a major fundraiser on Saturday, March 30th. The event is to be held at Lea Lou Co-Op on the square and will begin at 6:30. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to help Mason County First Responders (Mason County EMS & Fire Department) This theme of this year’s event is Sights, Sounds & Taste of Town!
