The U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) will take effect on July 1, ending a nearly three-year process to modernize the North American trade agreement. “The USMCA’s entry into force marks the beginning of a historic new chapter for North American trade by supporting more balanced, reciprocal trade, leading to freer markets, fairer trade and robust economic growth in North America,” a release from U.S.
Mason County Judge Jerry Bearden was notified late last week that Mason County has been selected for a Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program (THCPP) grant to fund the restoration of the Mason County Courthouse. The THCPP conveyed to Judge Bearden that competition during this round of funding was rigorous. Of the twenty-one applicants, the commissioners selected three major construction projects, two emergency projects, and four planning projects.
HUNTSVILLE, Texas (June 10, 2020) - The students listed on the Dean’s List of Academic Honors at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, are undergraduates who have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.5 out of a perfect 4.0 in all work attempted while enrolled in not less than 12 semester hours.
The annual Puncher Club Tournament will be held this Saturday June, 20th. This will be a 4 person A,B,C,D scramble format with a length of string for continuation of shots. The price is 50$ per person with mulligans available for purchase at the club house. You may have pre-arranged teams or sign up individually by noon on Saturday.
The woodcarvings of Mason artist Gene Zesch will be displayed in a special retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Western Art in Kerrville titled “Looks Like We’ll Just Have to Tighten Our Belts Again.” The exhibition runs from June 19 through August 1 and features over 60 of his pieces. The Kerrville exhibition will be the fifth single-artist museum show of Zesch’s career.
The Brownwood Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes is honored to recognize Mason High School coach Denis Cano as the Area Huddle Leader of the Year for the 2019-2020 school year. Cano was selected from more than 30 FCA huddle leaders in the area. Cano has served as Mason’s FCA huddle leader for the past three years.
The Mason Tennis Association regretfully but respectfully announces the cancellation of this year’s Mason Dr. Pepper Open set for the 3rd weekend in July. We did not come to this decision lightly.
