Maxwell Stuart (Max) Croft passed away at his home in Llano this past week. He will have a private burial later in the Bluffton Cemetery. He is survived by his sister, Jo Ann Rogers of Llano and two nephews Jerry Rogers of Llano and Jimmy Rogers of Lagarto. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran.
Hatty Lucinda Henderson Sagebiel passed away July 23, 2017 at the age of 95. She was born on Dec. 10, 1921 at her childhood home in Ingram, in Kerr County, to John L. and Mattie Lee Henderson, the fifth of eight children. Hatty adored her parents and siblings, and she treasured the wonderful life they all had growing up in their country home in Ingram.
Leslie Ray Mansell passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 in Marble Falls, at the age of 76. He was born March 10, 1941 in Llano, to Robert Mansell and Hazel (Light). Leslie was a lifetime resident of Llano. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and worked offshore pipelining. He is preceded by his parents, Robert Mansell and Hazel Mansell; brother, R.T.
Frances E. Hadaway, 86 of Temple passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at her residence. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 21, at Crotty Funeral Home with her grandson Christopher Webb officiating. Frances was born on Jan. 23, 1931 in Las Vegas, NM. She married Preston Othel Hadaway on Sept.
Wendel Ray Bickett Sr. went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2017 at the age of 64. He was born in Morton, on July 22, 1952. He is proceeded in death by his father, mother and brother. He is survived by his wife, Alice Marie; his five children, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was loved by all who knew him & will be terribly missed. Visitation was held Tuesday, July 18, from 1-3 p.m.
Anthony Leroy Wooten was born on March 29, 1948 in Llano, and grew up in Lone Grove. He passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones June 23, 2017. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War at Camp Casey in Korea. He retired as a diesel mechanic, then worked for KMUD with many of his good friends - Who said donut day would never be the same when he left.
On July 9, 2017, Allen Aaron Rode, ended his battle with cancer at 2:24 am at H.C.M.H. He was surrounded by his loving family and wife, Helen, of 54 years. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15, at Zion Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Visitation begins in the atrium at 10 a.m. He was born Dec.
Rodger Dale Myers of Llano passed away July 8, 2017 after a long illness. He was a loving husband to Diane Lynn Myers, Loving Father, Grandfather, brother and friend. Survivors include his wife, Diane Lynn Myers; children, grandchildren and mother, Jean Gew; step sister, Jackie Dahl; sisters, brother, many nieces and nephews, as well as a host of many friends and extended family. James Dale Fry went to his eternal reward on June 25 after a lengthy illness. He was 81 years old. Dale loved Llano and its people. Due to that love for historical Llano, he agitated for the condition of its buildings by listing his concerns in many “Letters to the Editor.” He got a letter saying “No more letters.” But the city began to restore its downtown and later the paper hired Dale as a reporter!
Dr. James Edward Heath, 82, of Buchanan Dam, Texas, passed away June 27, 2017. He was the son of Max Levi Heath Sr. and May Blossom McNutt Heath. He was born May 3, 1935 in Evansville, Indiana. While still in college, he married high school sweetheart Muriel Maxine Shoemaker on April 2, 1955.
