The 81st Blanco County 4-H and FFA Youth Show begins Thursday, January 2 at the Blanco County Show Barn in Johnson City. This year there are more than 390 entries. The Hill Country is preparing for the Kinder Morgan Permian Highway Pipeline to begin construction.
Kinder Morgan is still waiting on the its federal permit approval, but expects to receive it in early 2020, according to Allen Fore, Kinder Morgan vice president of public affairs.
About 99 percent of the land has already been acquired and everything is ready to go for the PHP, Fore said.
On Monday, December 23, Al Poteet announced in a letter to Blanco County Republican Party members that he would be stepping aside from his position as the party’s chairman, a position which he has held for the last 16 months. He also announced in the same letter his successor, Carlette Lewis.
Lewis is from Blanco County, and lives in Johnson City with her family where she sells real estate.

The Johnson City Library will be debuting Ultra-High-Speed Internet- going from 50 Mbps to 500 Mbps. The library will host all-day events on December 30, 2019 and January 6, 2020, to show off the new internet capabilities and celebrate the New Year.
All ages are welcome and encouraged to come.

President David O’Bannon called the regular meeting to order on December 16 at 7 p.m. and a quorum was established.
O’Bannon reminded the service providers that inventory is due in January. Consent Agenda was approved which included minutes of the November Regular Meeting and Treasurer’s Report. A motion to approve the minutes was given by Board Member Kirk McElhinney and seconded by Brandt Rayburn; motion carried.
