Officials from the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park are still assessing the damage done to the porch of Withers and Spaulding building at the corner or Main St. and Nugent Ave. after a truck pulling a tractor trailer jackknifed and collided with the structure last Thursday morning.

When staff at the Selah, Bamberger Ranch Preserve came to the Blanco State Park to help remove debris following the Memorial Day flood of 2015, they saw big pecan logs in piles destined for the city landfill.

Although the Texas Game Wardens have not yet identified a suspect in a poaching incident that occurred the second week of January near Cypress Mill Road in northeast Blanco County, some information has been reported to Operation Game Thief, the Texas wildlife crime-stoppers program.

“This year, we saw more utilization of the Recycling Center,” Granberg said. “Every year it grows in use.”

The City Council met Tuesday for their regular session for February 2018. During the meeting, they distributed funds to other agencies in the community and approved the general municipal election coming up in May.
Outside Agency Funding
City of Johnson City had a $15 thousand budget item in order to fund other local agencies that serve the community.
The City received five requests for funding.
Effective March 1, Pedernales Electric Cooperative's transmission cost of Service (TCOS) will increase by $0.00098 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) to $0.01256 per kWh, a less than 1 percent increase on an average member’s bill. Residential members with average energy use of 1,000 kWh should expect to see an increase of about 98 cents per month on their PEC bill.
The TCOS recoups the cost of transporting electricity on the statewide transmission system.
