The Great Texas Mosquito Festival is approaching its 36th Annual Festival, scheduled for July 28, 29 & 30, 2016 in Clute, Texas (55 miles southeast of Houston). The festival was started to promote and encourage tourism in the City of Clute. Over the years, the festival has grown tremendously, attracting some 13,000 plus visitors over the three-day event.
The Hill Country Community Theatre is pleased to announce principal casting for Irving Berlin’s hit musical Annie Get Your Gun. This musical spectacle, written by Herbert and Dorothy Fields, celebrates the legendary sure-shot, Annie Oakley. The rivers are running full!   Summer is almost here!!!  The 19th Annual Bandera Riverfest – the Ultimate Riverside Picnic, is gearing up!   Check out one Bandera’s best assets – the beautiful Medina River.    Bandera Riverfest, well known as the Ultimate Riverside Picnic, keeps growing and has everything from water games, music, hot dog & watermelon eating contests, car show, arts and crafts, and a Bandera Idol competition.

Stonewall, Texas - Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site will be hosting the annual fishing clinic June 4th, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. The event will be held on the banks of the beautiful Pedernales River where Lyndon B. Johnson himself would fish. The fishing day event is located within LBJ State Park and Historic Site at the Group Picnic area on Ranch Road 1.

Burnet County Fair Set for June 9-11
The Burnet County Fair and Rodeo Association are celebrating “The Golden Years” with a 50th anniversary celebration, June 9th, 10th and 11th, 2016.  All Fair events will be held at Burnet Community Center or the Hill Country Foundation Building, located at 401 E. The first Llano Rodeo was held in 1919 west of town where T.J. Moore’s pecan orchard is now, on the old picnic grounds, as it was called back then. Steer Roping, Bull and Steer riding, Bronco riding, and bulldogging were some of the first events. In 1933 the rodeo was moved to Robinson Park where it was located for a couple of more years.
