David C. Derrenbacher, 79, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Luke Frank Sheppard Jr., 91, passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021 at his home in Blanco. Luke was born Nov. 8, 1929 in Dallas, to Luke Sheppard Sr., and Mildred Mae (Phillips) Sheppard. Luke was raised in Corpus Christi, where he later graduated from high school. Not long after high school Luke served his country with the U.S.
On the 14th of January 2021, God called upon another one of his Angels. Jesus Juan Estrada “Chilo” of Blanco, was born in Laredo on Dec. 24, 1959. Chilo excelled in music and was co-drum major and state champion at Laredo Martin High School. After high school Chilo enlisted in the U.S.
Leroy W. Petri of Johnson City passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2021 in Fredericksburg. Leroy was born Dec. 19, 1945 in Blanco to Ernest and Clara Bindseil Petri. Leroy proudly served his country for two years in Vietnam with the U.S. Army as a teletype engineer. From 1970 until his retirement, Leroy worked for the Bamberger Ranch in Johnson City as the ranch engineer.
Blanco resident Samantha J. Ardiana, 81, passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, Nebraska. Samantha was born Aug. 9, 1939, in Hamilton, Texas to Angus & Elizabeth (Tannmell) Jones. She graduated from Evant High School and then received her bachelor’s of arts degree in education. Samantha married David Ardiana on March 4, 1960.
On Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, Russell Sparks Abbott, loving husband, friend, brother-in-law and uncle, joined his bride in heaven. He was 86 years old. Russell was born on Oct. 11, 1934 in Corpus Christi, to Fred and Betty Abbott. He had an ideal childhood, growing up in the border town of Eagle Pass, where he learned to hunt and fish.
Mr. Thomas Joe Ware, 80, of Onalaska, Texas, was born May 3, 1940 in Corpus Christi to Thomas Leonard Ware and Agnes Marie (Rackley) Ware. He passed away Dec. 27, 2020 in Livingston. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Richard Ware. He is survived by his wife, Leona Ware of Onalaska; son, Chad Ware and wife, Kimberly of Sargent; son, Todd Ware and wife, Dana of Montgomery; and son, Chris Ware of Onalaska; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry Ware ...
Lyndon Nelson Heimer was born on July 15, 1939 to Edgar and Erna Heimer at their family ranch in Blanco. He died on Jan. 2, 2021 at the age of 81 in Cleburne. As a third generation Texan, Lyn grew up with German as the primary language among his family members during his childhood.
Jose Luis Garcia Jr. (Joe)., 73, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully at Audie Murphy Hospital in San Antonio on Dec. 26, 2020, after a bravely fought battle with COVID. Born Jan. 5, 1947 in Santurce, Puerto Rico to Jose Luis Garcia y Rosario and Andrea Adalaida Melendez, Chaplain Garcia graduated with a BBA from the University of Oklahoma in 1968, and a MA in Divinity in 1977 from Wartburg Theological Seminary, Iowa.
Margareta Emma Maenius (nee Meier) of Albert passed away on Friday, Dec. 25, 2020, at 94 years of age. She was born Dec. 26, 1925 in Luckenbach, to Henry and Emma Brodbeck Meier. Margareta married Hugo Maenius on Oct. 17, 1945 in Trinity Lutheran Church. Along with her husband and parents, Margareta was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters: Edwin, Arthur, Albert and Alfred Meier, Viola Gremmer, Elsa Rode and Lydia Fishel.
