A confirmed positive report of rabies has been made for Blanco County.
According to Blanco Veterinary Clinic, a fox attacked a family’s dog and the clinic confirmed the case. A post on the clinic’s Facebook page stated the family is “having to take drastic steps with the Texas Department of Health on dealing with the case.”

Another year has flown by and Keep Blanco Beautiful was as busy as ever.
Earlier in the year, KBB contracted ArborCare and Consulting of the Guadalupe River Valley to help with the restoration of the Byars Live Oak Tree. Work began Feb. 1 and finished up the following week. This tree is estimated to be between 500 to 700 years old and the maintenance and pruning of the live oak will help make sure that this beautiful tree will be standing in 500 more years.

David Smith called the Blanco Planning and Zoning meeting to order on Monday, Jan. 6 at 6:37 p.m. on the front porch of the Byars Building.
Commissioners Chris Anderson, Mike Green, Susan Moore, Loris Perkins, Trey Priour, R. K. Seals and Smith were present for the meeting. The doors of the building were locked, but the seven commissioners met on the porch.
