A dose of extreme winter weather blanketed Blanco County and much of Texas early this week, causing havoc on roadways and with electricity.

Construction began Jan. 4, 2021 and the project is expected to be completed in just over a year, in the spring of 2022. However, this time frame is subject to delays due to the weather and COVID-19.

Sauceda said that construction of the new water plant is underway and is expected to take 18 months.

Blanco County is continuing to see robust demand for the COVID-19 vaccine as at least one local pharmacy is in the process of becoming a provider.
