Mark your calendars! Opening Day for Mason Youth Baseball and Softball will be on Saturday, March 25th. Come early, hungry and stay all-day! We will serve a BBQ brisket meal (meat donated by Tommy and Joyce Durst) for this year’s opening day fundraiser event.
We have 208 baseball and softball players this year!
The Texas Tennis Coaches Association has sponsored team tennis for 3A and Under 36 years ago. On Saturday, Mason has qualified for its 35 trip to the state championships to be held in Austin this coming Friday and Saturday. Mason has won 23 state championships, second on 7 occasions, 3rd three times 7th once (consolation champion) and failed to qualify only once in 2001.

The Hill Country Sheep and Goat Organization (formerly called the Hill Country Chapter of the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association Auxiliary) offers several scholarship opportunities for high school seniors, undergraduate college students, and post graduate students attending a Texas college, university, or accredited technical school. In 2016, we awarded $18,500 in scholarships.

Four candidates have declared for the two at-large positions on the Mason I.S.D. Board. Early voting begins on April 24 and will be held at the school office. The election will be held in conjunction with the City of Mason election on May 6, and all voting will be at the Richard P.
Mason County 4H members recently attended the San Antonio Livestock Show. There were 24 members who showed 37 head in steers, lambs, hogs, goats, heifers breeding sheep, breeding hogs and broilers. Here are the results from the San Antonio Livestock Show.

The annual Lee Graham Relays will be held on Saturday, March 11th at the Mason High School track.
Field events start at 9:00 a.m.
Running events begin one hour after the field events are completed (around 12:45 p.m.).
