This week, I’ll discuss how geology exerts a strong influence on the plants and animals that we can expect to see in a given area. From a geological perspective, soils are typically very young, having formed within the last few million years.

In October the Food Bank served 381 individuals, and more than 50% were children and elderly.

Mason County Geology
Mason County has fascinating and diverse geological formations, and it is a popular destination for both amateur and professional geologists. Part of the reason for this diversity is that Mason County has rocks and deposits that were formed from billions of years ago up until the present. Layers of the Earth’s surface are always in one of two states: rock layers are either being formed (deposition), or they are being eroded away (erosion).
This smile didn’t just happen. It’s the result of Second Chance volunteers taking their time and working together to make a dog’s life better. And you can be a part of this rewarding effort. Dogs end up homeless for a variety of reasons. An owner’s death. Or a furry little puppy grows into a 6-month-old youngster and isn’t cute in the same way.
