Mason City Commissioners passed a $6.4 million budget for the upcoming fiscal year while adopting a residential and business property tax rate that is lower than fiscal year 2021. The property tax rate for fiscal year 2022 will be .156 cents per $100 valuation, according to an amended version of Resolution 21-364.

Folks likely have not seen a lot of bustling activity at the Mason County Courthouse recently, but that does not mean that nothing is happening.
