Steve and Susan Hill had family from Florida visit last week. Steve's sister Shannon, niece Tracy, and great-niece Bailey visited attractions in the area. It was their first time to Texas and it had also been 14 years since they had seen each other. They all decided they loved Texas and wouldn't wait so long to visit next time. ***** The following Sunday, childhood friends and family, Maggie Gastring Wilke, Marsha Hobbs Andrews, and Susan Hobbs Hill met for their second annual wildflower tour.

Charles Jacob “Jake: Weirich Charles Jacob Weirich passed away in Austin, Texas on April 25, 2016 at St. David’s Medical Center after a courageous 36 day struggle in ICU. On Saturday, May 21 the First Christian Curch will host a spaghetti supper from 5:00-7:00 pm. The meal (by donation) will be served in the exhibit hall at the Fair Grounds to raise funds for their upcoming trip to Zacatecas, Mexico. Joni Topper stated, "Helping with the vacation bible school there, last year, was definitely a highlight of the trip.
The Bible says in understated terms that “after fasting forty days and forty nights, Jesus was hungry.” So was I. Not only hungry, but starving. Literally. On January 6, 2016, I began a 40 day fast because I needed to get God’s attention to help me with all the troubling issues I was facing.

Chances are you know a young person who could make good use of a scholarship! The Hill Country Cattle Women work diligently each year to raise funds to award to scholarship recipients. These are awarded to students who attend a Texas college or university, and are at the Junior or Senior level.

Our junior high tennis traveled to Llano on Wednesday, April 20th to compete in an after school dual against players from Llano and Faith Academy. Against some very talented privately trained tennis players, we managed to secure five wins against four losses. If your property increased in value in the last year, you will soon receive an appraisal notice from the Blanco County Appraisal District. Approximately 5,103 notices were mailed on Friday, April 29, 2016. Your city, county, school districts and other local taxing units will use the appraisal districts values to set your 2016 property taxes. Under Texas Law, county appraisal districts are required to notify property owners about changes in their property’s value.
