JC staff and students completed one of the most successful weeks of extracurricular competition in recent memory last week and the spring activities aren’t done yet.
Starting it off on Tuesday the Fighting Eagle Band earned their first UIL Sweepstakes Trophy by completing the hat-trick of Division 1 ratings in Marching, Concert and Sight-Reading Competition at the UIL Contest in Liberty Hill.
LBJ High School is hosting a coffee for area businesses who may be interested in hiring a student intern through the campuses’ new Work-Based Learning Program this fall.

Johnson City traveled to San Antonio to take on the Lady Beavers from Falls City last week and came home with a Bi District title. The Lady Eagles started slow but scored in every inning after the first frame and won by way of the ten run rule, 13-2. Emily Matjeka continued her dominance on the mound only allowing two runs, giving up five hits and striking out 6.
