The Regional Visual Art Scholastic Event was held in San Marcus
The Regional Visual Art Scholastic Event was held in San Marcus, Texas on February 23rd. 22 LBJ Art Students went against 1A through 6A schools in all of Region 13 and Art schools and brought back 35, 1st place Medals and One 2nd place. Please congratulate these talented LBJ Art students who kept up the LBJ tradition of being the school to beat. LBJ High School first place medalist in Division one are MIXED MEDIA: Sierra Anderson, Gianeid Garcia, Hayden Jones.
On Thursday, February 18th, we traveled to Fredericksburg to compete in an all-day tournament against the area’s finest tennis programs including Dripping Springs, Mason, Fredericksburg, Kerrville Tivy, and Llano, and other school in and out of our district. For LBJ High Schooler Kaitlyn Arvesen, the Eagles shutting out Sabinal wasn't the most exciting part of this past Friday night's football game. Gnome One Should Go Hungry. You may have noticed the garden gnomes roaming around town, landing in the yard of community members, church friends and local businesses. The Lady Eagles continue to sweep their opponents, defeating Junction and Utopia in three straight games each. The Lady Eagles traveled to Junction Friday and won the match 3 games to none. Johnson City won the first game 25-13, the second game 25-9 and the final game 25-16. Annamarie Capra had an awesome night serving finishing the night at 100%.

County Clerk, Laura Walla, reminds Voters that the Early Voting Period for the upcoming November 3, 2015 Special "Joint" Elections in Blanco County begins on Monday, October 19 and will run through Friday, October 30. Registered Voters will vote FOR or AGAINST the seven (7) Texas Constitutional Amendments submitted by the 84th Legislative Session AND the one (1) Bond Proposition submitted by the Blanco County Emergency Services District #1 and #2.
Organizers of the Wild Game Dinner are looking forward to serving a delicious variety of game to a large crowd this Saturday, Oct. 3rd, at the Blanco County Show Barn in Johnson City. This year's fare is fried Axis, wild game chili, whole roasted hog, wild boar BBQ, gumbo, jambalaya, fresh homemade sausage, boiled and fried shrimp, fried pork, brisket, fried taters, along with bacon wrapped dove and quail.
A fairly new tradition inspired and started by High School Principal Julie Storer has become a Homecoming "favorite". Each year, graduating classes ending in the same number as that year will be honored in a "Parade of Decades" during half-time of the Homecoming football game. This year's list of Alumni can be seen in the Homecoming Section on page H-4. It is also the first gathering for the Class of 2015, the most recent to obtain Alumni status.
