Active COVID-19 cases in Blanco County increased by 10 in less than a week.
Numbers released Monday afternoon by the Blanco County Office of Emergency Management showed 48 active cases in the county, an increase in the 38 active cases the agency reported last Wednesday. That number is up 20 from the 28 active cases BCOEM reported Oct.
The Blanco Coalition on Awareness, Prevention, and Treatment of Substance Abuse (CoAPT) meeting was called to order by Amber Corder, project coordinator, at 9:02 a.m. on Nov. 18 via Zoom.

The Blanco Good Samaritan Thrift Store has closed until further notice due to a rise in COVID-19 cases.
“Reluctantly, Blanco Good Samaritan has decided to close its thrift store until further notice. The reason, once again, is the pandemic, which has spread (COVID-19) too close for comfort,” the announcement stated.

The Blanco Independent School District superintendent is asking for patience and understanding after all campuses had to close last week due to recent positive COVID-19 cases in the district.

The Rotary Club of Blanco County (RCBC), in partnership with the Blanco Education Foundation (BEF), recently presented Blanco Elementary School Safety Patrol Coordinator Mary Jane Hill with a check for $1,900 to purchase uniform items and equipment for the volunteer elementary students who perform safety patrol duties at the school.
