To the Editor: It has been a very rewarding experience in working with the relief center for me. Hearing and seeing the devastation is overwhelming and heart breaking. It amazes me how some people will not take advantage of the services available because they want someone else to get it before they do. I am talking about folks that lost everything.
A Burnet County jury found Grady Hodge guilty on 16 counts of sexual assault of a child and six counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact and sentenced him to the maximum allowable prison term on each charge. Werner J. Hohenberger, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away June 3, 2015. He was 96. A Rosary was be held Friday June 5, 2015, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel and a Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, June 6, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial followed in Ark City, KS at Hope Cemetery.
BEE CAVE — Managers of the Rainwater Revival school grant program were happily overwhelmed with 13 terrific grant applications from Hill Country schools this year. The Blanco Elementary School Millionaire Accelerated Readers celebrated their achievement by eating lunch at the Chess Club and watching a book-based movie on Tuesday June 2. The 29 millionaires each read at least one million words this school year. Six of the fifth grade students read over two million words each.

AUSTIN – On May 29, 2015 the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) began accepting applications for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) as a result of the Presidential Disaster Declaration (FEMA 4223-DR) for Harris, Hays and Van Zandt counties.
