I remember the ballyhoo when photos of Elvis Presley were released showing him at a military base getting his head scalped by a U.S. Army barber. The girls cried and swooned, the guys were glad to see their rival taken down a notch. For me, the sad thing is that today such “scalping” is a daily occurrence in so-called barber shops all across Texas.
Some of the fondest memories of my childhood include going to the barber shop with my dad.
To redeem someone is to pay the required price in order to secure their release from the one holding them in bondage. When Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, he sold out the human race, and we are all born under that sin and under the rulership of Satan.
I encourage to read Mt 7:13-29. Verse 22-23 says, “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” The Bible repeatedly reminds the church to beware of false Christs; false prophets; false teachers; false doctrine; etc (Mk 13:22-23, 2Pt 2:1-2).

Storms in our lives come upon us quickly, at times. We wonder about how much hail, or wind, or water we will get in the pain we go through.

1Th 4:3-4 "For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor." Sanctification - GK def. "Purification; the state of purity; consecration; holiness". This Greek word is found ten times in New Testament, and is translated "holiness"
As a school administrator I was always looking for ways to recognize accomplishment. It was relatively easy in a school of 340 students but it became somewhat more difficult in a school of 3,200. Over the years, I had experience in both settings and everything in-between.

I encourage you to read Eph 4:17-24. Verses 22-24 say, "That ye put off (cast off, lay aside) concerning the former conversation (behavior, conduct) the old man (nature), which is corrupt (ruined, defiled) according to the deceitful lusts (desires); And be renewed (renovated, reformed) in the spirit of your mind (be spiritually minded); And that ye put on (be clothed with) the new man (nature), which after (according to) God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

I encourage you to carefully read John 3:1-6. Vs. 6 says, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." Jesus said we must be born again, born of the Spirit. If one is only born physically, born of the union between father and mother, they will not inherit the kingdom of God.
