All three school campuses will have a security resource on patrol this fall. The new School Resource Officer (SRO), Officer Steve Harris, began work at the Blanco Independent School District the first week of October. Off. Harris serves jointly as an officer of the Blanco Police department and BISD. The position is being funded by the BISD CoAPT grant, with additional funding being applied for in 2019.

Hotel Occupancy Tax funds or H.O.T. funds are a “hot” topic in many cities, and Blanco has been no exception. Understanding the H.O.T. funds and what those funds can be used for is not very complicated, and the Chamber of Commerce would like to help interested individuals and organizations learn what they need to know in order to consider making application for these funds.
The Chamber, currently under contract with the City of Blanco, manages the H.O.T.
