The Brewster County Tourism Council and Visit Big Bend has been informed by Big Bend National Park that the development of a new hiking trail located at Panther Junction has begun. The Lone Mountain Trail will be accessible just north of park headquarters at Panther Junction. The trail will circle the base of Lone Mountain and grace visitors with views of the Chisos, Dead Horse, and Rosillos Mountains.

The Kerrville Art Club (KAC) will open 2021 with an annual Judged Member Show beginning on January 7. Located in the Cornels Gallery of the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center the show will continue through February 13. Award ribbons will be presented in each of five categories. Those will include Figure/Portrait, Landscape/Cityscape, Still Life/Floral, Animal/Wildlife and Abstract/ Non-Representational.

Temple, Texas, December 2, 2020 — The USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Texas reminds agricultural landowners and land managers the first application deadline is December 4, 2020, for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). A second funding application deadline will be February 12, 2021. Applications are taken year around for NRCS programs, but deadlines are announced to rank and fund eligible conservation projects.
