Annie Ruth Goff, of Mason, passed away on Monday, October 12, at the age of 90.
She was born on December 9, 1924, in Coryell County, Texas, to Otis Lee Gordon and Myrtle Holtzclaw Gordon. She lived in Mason for much of her life before moving to Kerrville the last few years to be closer to her daughter.

Jo Ann Barwise passed away Thursday, October 15th, at the age of 79.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Barise; son, Dr. Britt Barwise & wife Christy of Port Aransas; grandchildren, Kylee & Mason Barwise; sister, Jane Zesch & husband Ronny of Mason.
Jo Ann was born January 18, 1936, in Mason, to Sam & Willie Mae Doell Brandenberger.
Tommy Barton Jordan, age 77 of Seguin, passed away on October 18, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul J. Zwarich officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
Tommy was born on February 28, 1938, in Mason Texas, to William Fritz and Martha Francis (Eakle) Jordan.
The Mighty Mason Puncher Band competed in the Region 7 UIL Marching Band Contest this past weekend in Early and came away with the highest rating possible. All three judges gave the band a division 1 rating.
"The judges were very complimentary of the kids," Mr. Halamicek said. "We had some minor flaws and issues, but overall I thought the kids did a great job!"
This year the band is allowed to continue competing for a chance to go to the State Marching Contest.
The Senior Class of 2016 football participants will be celebrated on October 30, 2015, prior to the Johnson City game.
Parents will need to report to the field by the band stand at 6:30 p.m. to line up. We hope all senior parents or guardians of football players, cheerleaders, trainers and band members will participate.

Parts of Texas have now recovered from the lingering drought that has affected almost the entire state. For the most part, even with rains in early summer, the rest of us are still coping with drought on a daily basis.

Under the threat of some serious rain, the turnout for the 10/21 Scramble was very light, and the brave souls who showed up had to keep one eye on the sky and one eye on the golf ball. The 9 golfers were split into 3 teams and play began just before 5:00pm.
The JV White team played a fantastic game last Thursday against the Center Point Pirates.
Everything was working in the Punchers' favor. The offense lit up the score board and the defense did a fine job of holding the Pirates to just 7 points. The final score was
