This pretty kitty might have more of a pep to her step if she knew someone who wanted to give her a forever home! Lily is about 5 years old, spayed and fully vaccinated. Lily appreciates a nice meal and a good brushing! She is on the lazy side of the spectrum, but can kick it into gear every now and then!

Summer is hopefully going out with a bang. The heat has been oppressive. The hurricane did not bring us a shower. There are only three weeks until fall and everyone is looking forward to a break in this heat and drought.

Back-to-school plans may look a little different for families across Texas this year, but Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) has resources available to make agricultural education fun whether in the classroom, at the kitchen table or anywhere in between.

Mason County M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library was awarded a $2,500 grant from the Texas Book Festival this year. Every year, the Texas Book Festival gives collection enhancement grants to libraries across the state. The funds received this year will go towards enhancing Mason County Library’s Junior section of books.
As the Artistic Director of the Mason Chamber Music Festival for four seasons since its creation in 2016, it has been my distinct pleasure to serve. That’s why it’s so difficult to announce to the fine people of Mason today that we have had to officially cancel our fifth season.
Puncher Club continues to plan for the upcoming football season. We will sponsor Dine with the Punchers on Friday August 21st. Meal tickets can be purchased at Commercial Bank, Mason Bank and the MISD administrative office. Tickets are $10 per plate and proceeds help fund various projects for our athletes.
The barbeque meal will be served from 6-8 in the evening and will be served drive-thru style.
After 35 plus years of service, Carole Warlick is retiring as General Manager of Hill Country Transit District, effective August 1, 2020. Carole became General Manager of Hill Country Transit District (HCTD), doing business as “The HOP,” in 1985. Little did she know at the time that it would become an all-consuming career that would take her all over the country and would give her an opportunity to affect the quality of life of so many.
