Anytime I ask someone in Llano County about their internet access, I generally hear one or more of the same stories: "Internet access in Llano County is too expensive, too slow, is unreliable, or it is not available at all". Whether you believe the Google statistic that Llano County is 966 sq.
KERRVILLE—You can't exactly say the Llano High boys' golf team was peaking in a two-city tournament, March 27-28, but you can say it did not play its best and still: finished second in a 13-school event, beat the toughest team it will face in district, and downed three of the closest competitors it has for the Region IV championship. "The kids know they left a whole lot of shots on the course,"
I'm not saying firing Rick Barnes (or forcing him out) was a terrible move—more like 50-50—but Athletic Director Steve Patterson's MO was bad and obviously transparent. Did he wake up in the middle of the night and say, "I think I've got it!"? Patterson told Barnes to get rid of one or two or however many assistants, and Barnes could probably keep his job.
SAN SABA—It was a solid, if not great, showing by the Llano Track & Field boys' team, March 26. Nothing occurred, though, at the Armadillo Relays that should really worry anyone concerning hopes at the district meet in Liberty Hill, April 15-16. The girls, on the other hand-off, had more promising results than they've shown in 2015. The 800-meter race possibly offered the most thrilling—and unusual—finish of the day and night at Mill Pond Park.
It has been a bad start in district play for the Llano softball Jackets, but, in their defense, they have faced three of the best Class 4A pitchers in the state, with a one-inning cameo by a fourth. LH 10, LHS 0 We reported this score last week. Nicole Thiem, March 20, fanned 11 for Liberty Hill in four innings.
One team hit real well, the other pitched better than that, and both downed the Jackets in the first two district baseball games. BHS 11, LHS 1 Burnet, March 24 in Llano, got to Logan Bauer for three runs in the first inning. Alex Melvin had a two-run single for the Bulldogs. "Our goal was to get ahead and then tack on more,"
Submitted by Shelly Schuessler, Principal - Llano Elementary School Llano Elementary School is an exciting place to be this time of year! Although our students and staff are working very hard to prepare for the upcoming STAAR Test, some additional activities have been scheduled at LES that I would like to share with you. During the month of February, our counselor, Kathleen Gray, focused on "Career Awareness".
The Llano Youth Soccer Association honored long-time board member and president, Aaron Hogan, by naming one of the new city fields after him. Hogan resigned from the board after serving almost five years for the organization. On February 17, Deana Kenner, treasurer for LYSA, presented Hogan with a plaque signifying what will be a monument naming the soccer field 'Aaron Hogan Field'. Hogan joined the LYSA in 2010, and from day one, Kenner said, he has been instrumental in moving the program forw ...

Dean Sharp, consultant and de facto project manager for the Llano ISD bond projects, said that the turf and track elements of the football field renovation had been "separated out" for the purposes of contractor bidding. At the February 16 meeting of the Llano ISD School Board Trustees, Sharp explained that this move would provide a "clearer bidding environment."
