A very rough start for the Lady basketball Jackets. The bad news is the scores were similar; the good news is limited, but give head coach Jerry McSherry credit for being upbeat, November 10, following a 67-28 loss to Jarrell at home. This came three days after a 64-21 set-back in Fredericksburg.
“Our effort was better,” said McSherry, after the loss to Jarrell.
We have featured Llano County’s Ed Thompson a number of times because of his championship performances in body building—and his sixth-place landing in the Nationals in July. He’s more dominant in Texas in the 70-and-over crowd than Tom Brady is among quarterbacks, and he proved it again in the State Championships in Arlington, November 4.
We have two new chapters for this report.

Officially, that was out of sixteen great teams that qualified from four regions, but you must toss in several hundred 4A schools which didn’t make it here in picturesque Palm Valley on the first Saturday in November.

Utilizing a running game that wore out the ground more than a golfer who shoots a hundred, a passing attack that seemed to care more about touchdowns than Mayfield-like yardage, and a defense that was solid to sensational, Llano High’s eleven walloped Bandera, 54-20, to reach 5-5 for the regular campaign—first such season since 2013—and earn third place in district 13-4A.
