Eighteen elementary school students sang to the Llano ISD school board members at the January meeting. The Singing Jackets offered "Kind and Generous" with the repeated chorus, "thank you for all you do." Llano High School Student Council officers presented the Board members with a special Tee shirt, a hand-written thank you note, and a certificate.

Plink! There, I heard it again, then again; the distinct plink of a metal golf club hitting a ball. What made it remarkable was the timing. It was an hour after dark on Saturday night. I sat by a campfire at Robinson Park by the glass-smooth surface of the Llano River with Boy Scout Troop 301 of Llano. Looking in the right direction we could see the eerie green glow of golf balls in flight, because the city park is adjacent to the city golf course. It's really not a secret that tent camping is ...

Llano's Heritage Days Festival a Huge Success
Overheard in a conversation with his friends in San Antonio, Robert Haley of Floresville, Texas, "Next year you should bring your family to Llano, they have things for the kids, vendors along the river, a chuck wagon cook-off and a gunfight, y'all would have a blast. We are fixin' to go into their old theater to watch a John Wayne movie and John Wayne is introducing it himself". Crossing the Llano River Bridge on Friday and Saturday may have had some scratching their heads, with smoke coming fr ...

According to Llano County Sheriff's Investigator Bucky Boswell, a man has been calling area residents posing as an agent for Publisher's Clearinghouse, and telling them that they have won $2.5 million and a Mercedes.
Tips for Motorists, Bicyclists, and Pedestrians
Halloween means children getting outdoors to enjoy treats, fun, and games. Although Halloween comes before the change back to Standard Time this year, the days are getting shorter, and the nights are getting longer. With shorter days comes more night driving. Because nighttime driving is more dangerous, it requires extra attention from motorists, as well as pedestrians and bicyclists. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that nearly two-thirds of all fatal pedestrian crash ...
