City Manager Brenton Lewis reported to City Council that dredging of the Llano River at Badu Park is 'not progressing as quickly as it should.' A representative from Chanas Aggregates, the company hired by the City to perform the dredging was not in attendance at the Monday, March 2 meeting. Lewis said that weather conditions had made dredging difficult.

The Llano Youth Soccer Association honored long-time board member and president, Aaron Hogan, by naming one of the new city fields after him. Hogan resigned from the board after serving almost five years for the organization. On February 17, Deana Kenner, treasurer for LYSA, presented Hogan with a plaque signifying what will be a monument naming the soccer field 'Aaron Hogan Field'. The window to file for the May General Elections for city and school elections closed on Friday, February 27. The City of Llano has three seats on the ballot; Mayor, and two aldermen. Incumbents, Mayor Mikel Virdell, Mayor Pro-Tem Bryan Miiller, and Alderman Todd Keller are not seeking re-election. Sherry Simpson and Mike Reagor have filed to run for Mayor. Soup's On! Well, it was on Thursday, Feb. 12 at the Llano County Library with 12 soups to choose from including Chicken Tortilla, Very Veggie Chicken Dumpling, black-eyed pea, vegetable beef and a spicy tomato that was very tasty, yes, the writer had to do his on taste test. Director, Tommi Meyers said "we had 103 people come in to the Smack Down, next year we will have to make adjustments for more seating."
Many of the earliest men who settled in Llano County were brothers. Oddly, the German community near Castell, which was the first settlement, had almost no brothers who immigrated to Texas together in 1847. Plus, the sons of those men who did come were still too young at this time to make much of an impact.
As many have reminded me recently, I sort of gave the Hill Top a rest the last three months as Nita and I both had health issues but now were we are up and going. As a matter of fact, I checked the top of the hill today and it is still there. I have to refer back to the times of London before we get too far away and some of the events of the times passed.
