Ella Louise Mastin, 92, of Sunrise Beach Village, Texas, formally of Kingsville, Texas died November 25, 2015. She was born to Henry T. and Thelma Louise (Updegraff) Jamison on October 22, 1923 in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Mrs. Mastin worked as a secretary to the Secretary of the Kansas State Federation of Labor and the Sinclair Refining Company and was a secretary of the Kingsville Independent School District for 19 years.

Donald Murchison of Buchanan Dam passed away peacefully at home Thursday November 26, 2015 at the age of 79. He was born June 12, 1936 to Oscar and Willie Mae (Bill) Murchison in Burnet, Texas.
Donald married Dorothy Louise Campbell on Sept. 7, 1957 in Leander, Texas.
He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan Dam. He was a director of the Burnet County Fair and Rodeo Association for many years and a founding member of the Buchanan Dam Volunteer Fire Department.

Elizabeth Adeline Carothers, 101, passed away in Houston, Texas on November 28, 2015. Elizabeth (Liz) was born August 13, 1914, in Houston. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William F Carothers. Together they made their retirement home at Sunrise Beach, Lake LBJ, for over 30 years where she was active in Ladies Auxiliary and bridge and SkipBo clubs.
Liz loved the movies, dancing, flower arranging, scrapbooking, and watching tennis on television.

City of Llano “Wild West” event organizers relegated political parties and candidates to the courthouse square – the least active area of the entire weekend. Perhaps lost on these organizers is fact that elected officials, i.e. political office holders, are the nucleus of our community, our state and our nation.

Electric utility bills spiked last January. Half the residents had their Llano utility bill double, some triple, and more.
City Council initiated a committee to investigate the spike, with Allen Hopson appointed Chair. That committee has been stalled for months waiting for correct information and proper leadership.
