I am not an MD, I’ve never played football, and I rarely review movies, so I guess I’m out of my league—but I saw Concussion, so here goes. I am indeed a fan, and I make a small portion of my living off the sport, writing about games. The movie is valuable to see so that you, at least, become aware, or gain more awareness, of the hazards of football’s collisions.
My son-in-law, John Crabb of Lakeway, had an original thought—which means my opening here won’t be original, but who can think of something clever and different about Alabama’s 45-40, national championship win over Clemson? “It sure was a good game” isn’t much of a grabber. John said, “It’s not so much the SEC that’s so powerful, it’s the area of the country.” Evidence: the last 11 national champs have been Texas, LSU, Florida (twice), Auburn, Alabama (four times), Florida ...
DC Comics heroes Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman joined Marvel Comics heroes Wolverine and Iron Man in the Community Building of Llano ISD at Monday night’s meeting of the School Board. To clarify, posters of faces of the Board members were drawn with costumes of those heroes. “Super Heroes of Schools” was the theme of the meeting honoring the Board members and administrators for Texas’ School Board Recognition Month.
In the last month or so, five homeowners received notice – either verbally, or via certified letter that they needed to install backflow prevention assemblies to their water meters, as per Ordinance 1267, the CIty’s policy for Cross Connection Control. The City, and all water utility providers, must have a policy for preventing cross connections to the public water supply so that the chance for contamination via backsiphoning or backpressure on the line is eliminated.

This exhibit is presented in partnership with Humanities Texas, the state affiliate for the National Endowment for the Humanities, and made possible in part by a We the People grant. Featured in this exhibit is a col ...
By Briley Mitchell December 31, 2015, at the Horseshoe Bay Resort, a new tradition for Llano was unfolding. A night that would see dreams come closer to fruition. The dream of a zero-depth splash pad at Badu Park, the dream of an ADA compliant dock for fishing, kayaking, and canoing. Julie Leverett with the Llano Parks Project committee was excited as she talked about the first time event.
I wrote an article a couple of years ago about our new Enhanced Learning Centers at Llano ISD. I decided to call this update about our ELC program “Maker Space” because our Enhanced Learning Centers share many features with the global Maker Space movement and I am hoping more people will make the connection between our ELC program and the great things that are going on in the Maker movement across the United States and the world. Our Enhanced Learning Centers are part of a larger initiative ...
