In the last month or so, five homeowners received notice – either verbally, or via certified letter that they needed to install backflow prevention assemblies to their water meters, as per Ordinance 1267, the CIty’s policy for Cross Connection Control. The City, and all water utility providers, must have a policy for preventing cross connections to the public water supply so that the chance for contamination via backsiphoning or backpressure on the line is eliminated.
