Llano ISD schools met the standards for accountability ratings, the Texas Education Agency announced Monday. All four campuses, along with the school district as a whole, met the standards in each of the four categories measured – student achievement, student progress, closing performance gaps and postsecondary readiness. “It’s still in the very early stages, but we’re certainly happy with how things look at this point,” said David Waters, Llano ISD assistant superintendent.
When you’re hoping your star running back will have a great season, you are also anticipating he will shine in the Orange-White game. (I guess Black wasn’t available.) Good news: “Mason’s Mason,” declared Llano High head coach Craig Slaughter. Two words easy to translate.  Mason Greenwood, who ran for more than a thousand yards in 2015, scored twice and had some superb runs in this Jackets vs.

The baler was a 20-year old piece of equipment. The cost for a new baler is $15,000. If the non-profit LRO is unable to purchase a new baler soon, it could be forced to reduce its hours of operation.
Filming began Monday morning at the Llano County Courthouse for the television pilot, Freedom on Trial. Filming will occur throughout the week at various locations in Llano. In the scene above, protesters picket a trial outside the courthouse. Emergent Order, a film company from Austin, is filming the pilot.
One quarterback threw the ball, while another watched and offered enthusiastic suggestions. Student and teacher. One lefty, one righty. One — Ben Walling — is heading into his first full year as Llano High’s starting QB. The other — Sean Salisbury — played for Southern California in the 1980s and for Indianapolis, Minnesota, and San Diego in the NFL and Winnipeg for two years in Canada. “This is my passion.
It started in 1974 just 20 miles west of Llano on RR 152 - the Castell Volunteer Fire Department Barbecue fundraiser. For the first time it was not held at the Castell School, but in the “new” fire hall just a few minutes before getting into Castell. With tables set inside the fire hall and outside, there was plenty of room for the many supporters that came out for the annual event. Entertaining for the night was provided by Les Hartman, Castell VFD President Bill Tuckness, and from Pontoto ...
