A vision that took place over six months ago became a reality on Saturday night at a sold out, packed, Lantex Theater. What started out as a typical morning at the Llano Chamber of Commerce in early February, ended with the possibility of a new event at the Lantex. Marilyn Russell, who has a “dual citizenship, one in Houston, the other in Llano” according to Vicki Christensen, called the chamber office and asked executive director, Briley Mitchell, if he had heard of an Eagles Tribute Band ...
August 13, 2009 - just another day in history. A person born on this day will be 7 years old today. If that same person saved a dime every day starting at age 3, then by now that person has accumulated $146.90 today. For Angela Lewis, it is another kind of birthday.

Welcome back. Hope you were able to struggle along with no football, except for the few bones of NFL, ARENA 3, CFL, FBS, and Pop Warner Live; the Classic Games of the 1940s; Pro Days of Our Lives; Coaches’ Corner, Closet, Club, Classroom, Clipboard...ENOUGH! WALL — These Hawks are pretty good. The football Jackets received proof in regular-season losses in 2014 and ’15, and, unofficially, the Class-3A school near San Angelo prevailed in a scrimmage, August 12. Not much to live up to from last autumn: a 12-1, regional- semifinalist performance. “They’re as good as we’ll  see all year,” said Llano head coach Craig Slaughter. "Offensively, I wish we had made something happen;  ...
They are coaches. They are teachers. And former athletes. One is in Llano; the other is in Marble Falls. They are sisters. Jessica Withrow is the first-year head coach of the Mustang volleyball team, while Amy Withrow — five years younger — is in her second year as a Lady Jackets’ assistant. “Athletics growing up was everything to us,” said Amy, who added that their dad, Jeff, “was one of the best coaches I have ever known.” Jessica wouldn’t disagree.
