Ronald James “Pete” Liesmann was born on April 27, 1955 in Blanco, Texas in the old courthouse when it was a hospital to Jerome Liesmann and Vera Waugh Liesmann. He married Debbie Schmidt on September 21, 1974 and they made Johnson City their home. At the age of 65 Pete died peacefully in his home surrounded by friends and family on Friday, October 30, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Will Marasek was born on February 9,1953 in Houston, Texas to Willie Marasek Sr. and Peggyann Marasek. He passed peacefully away surrounded by his family on October 30, 2020.  Will was raised in Bellaire, Texas and graduated from Bellaire High School. He then went on to graduate from Southwest Texas State University. While at SWT he became a runner for University Savings Bank and after graduating college he moved back to Houston and continued working for University Savings.
Charles Allen Bendele of Hye, Texas, passed away from colon cancer Saturday, October 24, 2020 at his home. He was born April 30, 1943 in Abilene, TX, to the late Henry George and Bonnie (née Schroeder) of Blanco, TX while his father was in officer training during WWII. He was a 1961 graduate of Blanco High School.
Anna Lee Slaughter Smith, 86, of Blanco, TX passed away at her home in Blanco Sunday, October 25, 2020. Ann was born August 1, 1934 in Loraine, TX to Clyde C. Slaughter and Mabel Lynette (Lee) Slaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert Clyde Slaughter, and sister, Lynda Jane Case.
Father, Grandfather, Son, Husband, Friend; each of us are better off because Dave was a part of our lives. This man with amazing talents, unexpectedly left this earth three days after his 62nd birthday. Dave’s contagious laughter, smile, witty sense of humor, love and ear for great musicians, his true God given gift, will be sorely missed. Beginning– Dave grew up in Neosho MO, the son of Garland DeWayne Douglas and Mary Evelyn Douglas.
Shirley Lee Felps Jones of Bluffton, TX, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 in Temple, TX in the company of her loving husband.  Shirley was born November 29, 1943 in Blanco, TX to Richard Milam Felps and Rosetta Brown Felps.  Shirley was a loving, stay-at-home mom for her daughters’ early years then returned to school, earning a degree and worked in the aircraft industry.  Shirley was an avid deer hunter, quilter, reader and was the librarian for her church.  Proud of her herita ...
Annie Gwendolyn “Gwen” Gillaspia, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2020 surrounded by family and friends. Born December 27, 1936 to Carroll Jacob Coffee and Eva Mae White Coffee in Cotulla, TX. She is survived by her three daughters Deborah Martin, Cynthia Boyd, and Becky Gillaspia; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and brother Charles Coffee.
Bobbie Jane Phelps Bates Connell of Johnson City, Texas, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020, in Fredericksburg, Texas. Bobbie was born in Johnson City Feb. 20, 1930, to Nathaniel George Phelps and Dora Edith (Moon) Phelps.  Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James S.
Anthony Joe Reinart of Hye, TX passed away at his home Monday, August 10, 2020. Anthony was born September 14, 1960 in Hereford, TX, to Leander John Reinart, Sr. and Clara Stengel Reinart. Tony grew up in Hereford, TX, graduating in 1979. He tried the farming life but decided it wasn’t for him.
From his earliest childhood, all he wanted to do was to fly. That motivation influenced his high school years as he worked with the Civil Air Patrol in his hometown of Artesia, New Mexico, washing planes to earn the opportunity to be taken flying. Chuck’s twenty-year career as a U.S. Air Force tanker pilot enabled him to see much of the world including The Azores (Portugal), Labrador (Canada), England, Alaska, Thailand, Australia, and Vietnam.
